SelecTree: A Tree Selection Guide

Tree Selection Starts Here

SelecTree, a tree selection guide, is an interactive program designed to help you select appropriate trees. It will match trees to particular sites based on compatible characteristics. Lists of trees generated by SelecTree should be viewed as a guide, not as the final authority in a tree search.

Attribute definitions and references are provided. Categories have been tailored for SelecTree. SelecTree is maintained by the Urban Forest Ecosystems Institute at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo.

The SelecTree information, images and guide are paid for with public funds and are available as a free public service. We welcome links to the SelecTree website, but caution that links may change. Images can be used for non-commercial scientific or educational purposes provided SelecTree is cited as the source. Citation directions are provided on each tree record listing.
